| Well I feel I should point out England already have a spin bowling coach, the admitedly somewhat less glamorous David Parsons, who since he was appointed in January 2006 has overseen the development of Monty Panesar into a world class spin bowler and worked extensively with a number of the emerging spinners (including Rashid) with some highly promising results. He's spent time with Jenner in Australia and is pretty highly thought of in the England setup including most importantly the players who seem to respect him.
I know the Kevin Shine era (a fellow a Level 4 qualified ECB Coach) as fast bowling coach has rather damaged peoples confidence in the whole English coaching system but Parsons has already made a big (if somewhat low profile) impact and is gradually changing the rather negative perseption of spin bowling in this country at lower levels. It would be great if Warne could also be involved in that but giving him a high profile coaching position simply because he's Shane Warne is simply not on. If he wants to pursue a career in coaching then he has to jump through the same hoops as every emerging English coach and if he's unwilling to do that then he should be used in nothing more than a consultancy role, something that he would probably be far more suited to.
