Warwickshire vs Lancashire, Pro40, Edgbaston

On Sky Sports 2, 12.30pm. One of the reasons I've posted this so early before the match is because I'm actually going to it!

I expect Lancashire to win here, Warwickshire are in very poor form.

Anyon was very poor today, his overs cost us plenty. Carter was amazing. 92 with the bat and then really good restrictive bowling. Nick James was excellent as well, but a lot of the others should hang their heads in shame, namely Trott and Troughton. Maddy's captaincy was a bit poor today as well.

Sounds like a virtual carbon copy of the Hampshire game . Good start followed by a spineless middle order collapse and even with a competive total our powder puff attack had no realistic chance of defending it. Can't say losing (and almost certain relegation) in the utterly pointless pro 40 is of major concern but we really needed a confidence boost ahead of the crunch Surrey game. We desperately need to avoid another pasting today by Northants.

Good to see Carts play one last slogtastic innings (hopefully the TV coverage will get him a contract at a new county) but it does kind of some up the muddled/incompetent thinking from Greatbatch and co that he gets brought back in place of VVJ who will actually be here next season. Another decent outing from youg Nick James (really should have bowled his full quota) following his sterling efforts in the 2nd XI with the bat last week and what do we do sign 30 year old second rate Saffer Botha on a 2 year contract .

(On a more positive note young Cross of Lancs is definitely one to watch out for)
