With Trescothick pulling out the selectors can rectify one of their daft ommissions from the initial 30: I'd expect Anderson to take the spot and to walk straight into the starting XI. For once they may actually WANT a second injury to allow them to rectify their other daft ommission: Bell is the man who's been carrying England in this ODI series (and scoring at a blistering rate in recent innings)... and given the form he's in I suspect they'd like to have him in ahead of the inexperienced Wright. Last but not least... is Nixon in the squad? Whatever happens, the gloves should got to someone other than Prior!

I would like to see Bresnan called up as a replacement for Flintoff or Bopara,he is a good bowler and is in great form with the bat and is very capable of hitting boundaries which is what you need in 20Twenty. I hope we don't take Flintoff.

Well with the sudden raft of injuries I think it's time that the current 20/20 champs Kent finally got some representative's for this mickey mou....sorry key ICC tournament. Now young Denly is a class act and it would be great to give him some international exposure (however meaningless) ahead of a winter A tour and whilst he isn't going to greatly aid the fielding Rob Key has reinvented himself as a very effective innovative opener in this format. In terms of the all rounder spots messers Stevens and Tredwell (you can never have too many spinners who can't actually turn the ball in 20/20) are very useful cricketers. (I would nominate Alex Loudon but like Ian Bell he has a far more pressing engagement for Warwickshire namely the crunch championship game against Lancashire Last edited by engssmoothcriminal : 05-09-2007 at 10:16 AM.

Why not DM after he played so well against India? 5 consecutive sixes!

However... Denly - badly out of form, which Twenty20 isn't going to rectify; Key - possibly (although Ern would say keep him away from the one-day setup as he'll be back in the Test side soon... Tredders, however, would be a much brighter prospect in an England Twenty20 side, brighter than Panesar anyway, with the added luxury of being able to bat anywhere from 1 to 8 or 9. And he does turn the ball. Oh, and I wouldn't touch Loudon with a ten-foot bargepole. He's bloody useless.

| Ah. Bugger that then, we need all the players we can get, especially as we've got Hampshire and Durham! Plus we only have three fit bowlers... (one's Saggers -

On the up side he could do well, and end up where he should be "in the Test side"
