Who would you like to see sign for your county next season? Obviously realistically of course, because I hear Panesar is doing OK at Northampton

Personally I would mind the likes of Steyn coming back to Warwickshire, even Ntini. Oh, and a better spinner. Botha....hmmm I'm not sure.

A few months of Dale Steyn at full tilt before being replaced when he joins up with South Africa by Ben Hilfenhaus for the final half of the season would be ideal but I doubt both players would be released by their respective boards for anything more substantial than a pointless 3-4 week stint. Of the O/S quicks likely to be available Bracken would be my prefered pick but a wild card of Sami or Munaf wouldn't be the worst of gambles.

(I also wouldn't say no to Pollock on a kolpak )

What about Mitchell Johnson?

Well there is a small chance of Pollock of Edgbaston, he does have history at Warwickshire.

Yes thank you for pointing out some fine products of Warwickshire's global acadamy and one looks forward to them under Gilo's stewardship at the Edgebaston finishing school going on to achieve international recognition for England in the next few years. Sadly for every Ambrose there is a Carter but a small price to pay for such talent coming through and if only Lancashire had the foresight look further than Burnley for their young players then they might finally start contributing something to the England side .


Naqqash will definitely be opening the bowling next season (provided of course he's fit) no question it's all about finding someone vaguely competent (namely not Carter or Anyon) to share the new ball with him. Polly would be the dream ticket (and I can continue my moaning from previous years about his commitment to the cause when he ends up with modest figures of around 45 wickets at 26 without breaking sweat) but we might have to wait another year of mismanagement from Mickey Arthur before he finally storms off to county cricket to see out the remainder of his career.

(Speedboy Salesman I wouldn't say no to Johnson but I fear there is less chance of him of being released by the ACB than Hilfenhaus)

How are you enjoying our Lancs bowlers Anyon and Daggett. You really should have gone for Jonathan Clare, another Burnley product. Never mind, being in Div two next season Warks should see what they missed.

Pish I remain confident that Greatbatch (given his tremendous eye for talent) made the right call with fellow second XI star Andrew Miller. Under AD's guiding hand I can't see anything other than automatic promotion with the Lancashire pace triumverate causing mayhem in division 2 ably backed up by the canny legspin of Ian Salisbury (yes he's still very much alive) who we are frantically pursuing. To think when I first became a Warwickshire member way back in 92 I had to put up with dross like Donald, Munton, Small, Reeve, Paul and Neil Smith forming the attack. This truely is a golden age for Warwickshire CCC.
