England Lions

I see England Lions' matches in the Duleep Trophy will be shown live and in full on Sky Sports. Fantastic news, and fair play to Sky. A great chance to see how the likes of Denly, Carberry, Hildreth et al do against quality opposition in unfamiliar conditions.

Carberry is having an excellent tour. scored half the runs in the last game with a 60 odd. He's got to get a proper england call up soon.

Yardy and Rashid have also had excellent tours, Ed Joyce did pretty well also.

Denly and Foster, it must be said, seemed to have it tough; Denly made just 50 runs in four innings, whilst Foster only managed 21, yet kept tidily, conceding just 7 byes in 2 matches. Foster's chances for the England keeper's spot in the near future appear to have diminished further in lieu of his batting.

Joyce scored a century today as England finished off their tour.

A tour with some encouragement: principally Carberry (a candidate to replace Cook in the ODI team) and Rashid, but Joyce, Onions and Yardy (who I do not think will ever make the grade internationally) too.

Why didn't Rob Key or Ed Smith skipper the side?
