I feel rather mean, picking only 3 SA players, but well, I'd like to pick Kallis and Pollock - but not at the expense of Flintoff!!

Strauss
Smith

More to the point, what has poor old Strauss done to upset you, ern?

You'll upset the poor lad!! Shatter his confidence at a vital time in his career....

Just a thought - is it fair to have Kallis down as an all-rounder when he is unlikely to bowl? I would rather like to select him as a specialist bat........

LOL - so would the ret of us. Wouldn't mind having both Pollock AND Flintoff either. Plus Hall for that matter. In fact, if I were entering the ODI competition I'd also want Collingwood and Klusenor: that's pretty much ALL the all-rounders.

I settled for the next best option: Giles as a specialist bowler. In many England teams of the past he'd have ranked as the all-rounder.

I think that's three of us with that team, Kirsty. Jenko's prize fund could be spread pretty thinly!

With Kallis disallowed as a bat () I'm going with the below for the tests:-

Bats

GC Smith (dedicated self-abuser, but he does make runs...........)

ME Trescothick (adds to the asthetic appeal of the team, and SURELY he has to make his ability count this time..... he averages over 50 at home for Gods sake.... and ENG is supposed to be where the flat-track bullies come unstuck....)

MP Vaughan - Captain ('cos Captain Quorn is a quality player and is threatening to return to top form!)

GP Thorpe (along with Vaughan and Kallis the best batsman on show!)

AJ Strauss ('cos he's better than Rudolph, and I can't have Kallis )

All-rounder

SM Pollock (I'm boycotting Kallis, leaving a toss-up between Pollock and Fred. In terms of points-earning, I think Pollcok might just edge it...)

'keeper

GO Jones (Boucher unlikely to feature at least at first, and Tsolekile looked dump in IND)

Bowlers

MJ Hoggard (loyalty...)

AF Giles (best spinner on show, sure to play a role in PE)

SJ Harmison (obviously)

M Ntini (also obviously)
