WAT Fantasy Cricket. The future

After England and South Africa have finished their One day Internationals It's my intention to try to set up a fantasy contest which involves a core of teams and players and which lasts perhaps 3 weeks . I would have 2 weeks between tournaments to give me and you a chance to study the teams/players/submit your team. I'd choose the matches and players and keep the same rules as now, but it would give other supporters a chance to pick their teams, as I think i've drifted towards a too 'England' centered format.
The WAT fantasy format has evolved from shadowing the Daily Telegraph format to an almost 'inhouse' format, and I think it's something which could develop into an interesting concept.
Given that several series are coming up (Australia in New Zealand, Zimbabwe in South Africa, Sri Lanka in New Zealand, Pakistan in India ,the Woman's world cup and ICC super series , not to mention the Ashes and in ( seems a long way away but isn't) 2007 the men's world cup it will be interesting to try to develop the format into a multi side one.

I'll keep you posted here of my proposed develompents and I am working now on a multi national format for the next competition.

Actually i was gonna run one for Aus vs. NZ and Zim vs. RSA but now that you mentioned it it is a darned good idea Jenko.

I'm sure imaginarydiva would be keen on running the Zimbabwe vs. South Africa one with me and I'm sure Seamer and Beny would be keen to do an Australia vs. New Zealand one with me as well.

Unless you were planning on doing every series Richie???? Which is fine with me.

You would have to pick a multi national team for these competitions and it would perhaps be interesting.
I'll post the player list asap!

When the Ashes come I will do a test only Eng V Aus classic fantatsy game.

If people want to do 'series only versions' for their team Pm me and if there is enough interest I'll start these up also.

Plan B

Ok. my plan is to run series contests on the relevent boards.
Australia V NZ on Australia/NZ boards.
Pakistan V India on Pakistan/India boards.
Womans world cup on women's cricket board.

I'm not covering SA v Zimbabwe. I need a break!

Members still get an international contest with the women's world cup.

Running a truly international competition is a long term goal, but at the moment I've neither the time or energy to do this.

I'm looking at other possibilities with the administrators, moderators and owners of the board. Any further news posted here.

To play you need to be a member.
