| Runouts Code: RO* = Run Out: +5 to the player who removes the bails. Enter # of instances. RO** = Run Out: +10 to the fielder for the return throw. Enter # of instances. RO *** = Run Out: +15 to the fielder for a direct hit. Enter # of instances. I included those runout categories because I noticed that cricinfo included the information in scorecards. MS Sinclair...........run out (Clarke/Symonds) In that example Clarke threw the ball in from the covers and Symonds whipped of the bails. Therefore, 10 points to Clarke for the return throw and 5 points to Symonds for taking the bails off. Had Clarke made a direct hit only his name would appear ie MS Sinclair..........run out (Clarke) and he would get 15 points. I'm not going to insist that you follow my scoring system. You can't change the points allocated to each column but you can use whatever columns you want and leave out the ones you don't want to use. If you do this you must tell us what your scoring system is so that the match reports can be verified. You don't have to score a whole series either. You may not want to score a whole 7 match one-day series or a whole 30 something match World Cup. You can specify how many matches in your game. You might like to do 2 Test matches of a 5 Test match series - that's your call. Splitting up a series in parts is a clever way of providing an opportunity for player changes.

| Bonus points issue I'd like some feedback on this scenario: The cut-off time has expired and registrations are closed. The game is valid if a minimum of 5 teams are registered. Now the Creator can edit any team. The first match ends and the Creator starts to score it. Before he does he checks each of the teams to ensure all 11 main players participated in the match. He notices that some team Managers require a reserve to be used because one or more of their main players didn't play. He swaps the reserve player into the main player section but notices that the original main player had been selected to receive bonus points. What does he do? Does he enable the reserve player to the receive bonus points instead (if he earned any)? Once the match score is known the Creator can't ask the Manager to nominate another player to receive bonus points (5 players receive bonus points including the Captain) because he would obviously choose a player that qualified for bonus points. That's cheating. So the Creator has to choose between allowing the reserve player to receive them or not assigning them to anybody. What do you think should be done in this case?

| I'd say give the reserve player the bonus points, and this should swap back to the orignal player (if they are selected/fit)

| Okay, I'll score my match and give bonus points to reserve players if they replace a player who was chosen as a recipient of bonus points. However, the other option is also available. The system will accept only 4 bonus players instead of 5 after registrations are closed. Before registrations are closed 5 bonus players must be selected because the system won't accept any empty fields. Update: Now all bonus fields must be filled. The system won't accept less than 5 filled bonus fields.

| Players List I asked SirAdrian to make the master Player List available for everyone to see so if you are creating a game you can check beforehand whether all the squad members are listed in the Player List. If you find some players aren't listed PM me with their names and I'll add them to the list.

| Test match report 2nd innings When you score a Test match you'll notice that a 2nd innings row is displayed but only 3 fields are available to score. They are runs and wickets (+20 & +30). The reason that those fields must be scored per innings instead of per match is that they attract bonus points per innings. All other fields must be scored for the entire match.

| Match Scoring The most tedious and time-consuming part of organising a fantasy game is scoring the matches. In a one-day series the matches are played close to each other so it creates a lot of work in a short period. SirAdrian has recently added a useful feature so that volunteers can help to score a game. Coming up is a 5 match series between the West Indies and South Africa. One volunteer per match would spread the workload around and speed up the scoring. Please reply here if you are interested in scoring some matches.

| Use of reserves Unfortunately, the limitation with the scoring system is that only one group of 11 players can be scored for an entire series. Although reserves are provided they can't be added where necessary on a match by match basis. This would add complexity to the application code. Perhaps it might be done in a future upgrade. But for now, once a reserve is used it has to remain in the chosen 11 for the entire series. If you are a creator I suggest scoring the original teams first and then look through the teams to find any players that didn't play at all. Swap the reserve in and the team score will automatically update to reflect the new player. Update: "Perhaps it might be done in a future upgrade." I've decided not to upgrade this feature as it would create more work for the creator. So, part of the skill in the game depends on you picking players you think will play in all or most of the matches. The creator will wait till the end of the game and swap reserves in to your team if any of your players didn't play a single match.
