LOL - yes, of course!!!! As long as I don't finish last.....I'm happy

Acutally, my main regret is not selecting Flintoff my team captin, instead of Gilchrist.

If I'd picked Tresco instead of Hayden and Simon Jones instead of McGrath I'd be winning now, but I don't care really because 5th is good for my first fantasy test series. I owe thanks to the following:

Strauss (1 ton).
Langer (relatively consistent and some big-ish scores).
Vaughan (my best batting pick in terms of a gamble - I knew he had a ton and some more runs in him)
Pietersen
Flintoff as captain
Warne (Especially as a bonus point bowler).
Brett Lee (fairly good series).

So here's to a great final test, with all of my players performing really well in a high scoring draw where 39 wickets are taken by McGrath, Harmison, Fintoff, Warne and Lee....and where Harmison is not out at the end with 50

Aah, you might as well have asked what's gone right! I lost quite a few points over KP in the first couple of tests (I dropped KP for obvious reasons) but now I'm happy since he can't catch a pigeon and obviously hasn't made that many runs either. Although I'm still getting punished for selecting Gilchrist as my captain, he's dropped catches, missed stumping and not got many runs either..(hmm, no reward for giving people who walk some credit by making them the skipper of my fantasy side), ..the rest of my players have all fetched me points at some stage or the other, Hoggard, McGrath, Harmison, Martyn, Langer, Struass, Tresco and of coarse Andrew and the great King of Spain. Like Kirsty I'll be happy just as long as I don't disgrace my self coming in last 3. Hopefully Gilchirst will gets some runs at the Oval.

I do not reget picking him over Warne. I thought I was by way of duty expected to do at least that much being founder of the offical WAT KOS fan club.

PS: Correction - I have now checked and that is what Kirsty did too (yes to Giles, and no to Warne). And I thought Warne was popular amongst ladies...! The poor lad will be devastated at receiving this thumbs-down from the WAT Ladies!
The WAT Ladies have a higher level than that M, you should have known. We are very sophisticated. We don't like flerty , banned drug using blondes who like text messaging - our prefference is for the cool, honorable and less glamorous players.

Final rankings:

Code:
markdolph 6897
Paul 6806
Collyisamackem 6780
pakindya fan 6754
Newsagent 6630
Maranello 6465
Richard Jenkins 6460
Trescothick 6386
Jimskeleton 6373
the blue red devil 6348
Congratulations markdolph on winning this game. The key to being competitive in this game was including Flintoff and Warne in your side and making one of them your captain. markdolph edged out Paul in the end because he assigned his bonus players to the bowlers who dominated the batsmen in this series. Paul probably lost the game by making Gilchrist a bonus player as he had a poor series by his standards.

Hurray! Hurray! I'm not last! I'm not last! In fact I'm not even last five! Quiet an achievement this for some one who didn't even pick Shane Warne, and selected Adam Gilchrist as her captain.

Congratulations to markdolph though, splendid effort to win a fantasy contest over five tests

Congrats to the winner of a very competative contest.

I am happy that a) I didn't finish last and b) managed to get avoid being in the bottom five!!!

I must try harder next time to pick a squad that actually gets me points, however!!!

I noticed that the manager who finished last actually picked an all Australian side which was an indication that they totally underestimated England's chances. The top ranked managers predicted an even series by including a balanced side of players from both teams.
