Ernest, Why can't I pick Naved-ul-Hasan as a bowler?? That's what he does!

Perhaps a categorisation issue NE.

Ern, Naved is a bowler first and foremost, not an all-rounder. Similarly, Shoaib Malik, though he bowls part-time, is mainly a batsman. That leaves Afridi is the genuine all-rounder.

You can now pick him NE, I have edited the team, he is now a bowler.

Thank's Maranello, I now have him as a bowler, I had Shoib Malik as a batsman, and Afridi as an all rounder.

Now I just have to e mail the changes to the players. .

Is there a reason for us picking reserves in these games? They never appear to come into effect. Can anyone please explain this concept and how it actually works? Thanks.

A pertinent question, NE and one which I've been wondering about for a while.

From what I understand after a quick look at the rules, if any player in our first XI does not play a game, the respective first reserve will be counted in.

For example, if you include player X as Batsman 4 and he is injured for the third test, but your Reserve Batsman 1 does play the third test, the latter's performance will be taken into account.

Perhaps Ern or Mike could clarify the matter.

Reserves
Here you select your reserves or subtitutes that will be filled in if your selected player is unable to play the match. Unless they are filled in, they do not receive points. Also note that you cannot have a player as a reserve as a main player.

Hope this helps.

The names listed below are the top 10 managers after the 1st Test

Newsagent (Edit)175
djohnpillai (Edit)1643
trissik (Edit)1625
mattw2323 (Edit)1599
Beny (Edit)1535
Spinner (Edit)1534
Notts Exile (Edit)1512
jevs_the_cat (Edit)1472

Caution I scored a different way, and while I feel these scores are correct, they seem a bit high, so I will be doing a double check before I score the second Test.

So in the first Test when Vaughan and Naved didn't play I should receive points for Strauss and Shoaib Akhtar as my reserves?
