World Cup Early Prediction

This will really test your prediction ability. You must choose 11 players from the list of 52 below to create a team 14 months before the series start. I think you'll agree this is the toughest fantasy game created so far. To make it even tougher I have made the cut-off time 30 days to attract a record number of entries. To say that winning this will be a miracle would be an understatement but someone always does win and it could be you. If you do win it will be a great achievement and you will have bragging rights till the next World Cup.

When selecting your team, make sure you choose players from teams that are likely to progress to the Super Eight Stage as those teams will play a further seven matches each on top of the three group matches. A team making the Final will play a further two matches after the Super Eight Stage. If you think you can predict one of those two teams you might consider having some of those players in your team to squeeze out a few extra points. Those last few points may be the difference between winning and losing.

Players:

Code:

Yes, I will use reserves if a player is a non-starter due to retirement or injury.

I dont think he will retire

I dont think Gilo would want to miss out on the WORLD CUP...... Hes got a couple of years left in him. Lets see though what hes got by the way I have a question if GILO dosnt perform well do you play anthor keeper on the Aussie side like Haiden?

Just letting all managers in this game know that I will shortly be scoring it. Before I do that, though, I will edit your teams if you picked any of the following players in your first XI:

Shoaib Akhtar - 0 (knee injury)
Stephen Harmison - 0 (retired from ODIs)
Boeta Dippenaar - 0 (named in the provisional squad but not final 15)
Damien Martyn - 0 (retired)
Geraint Jones - 0 (overlooked)
Brett Lee - 0 (ankle injury)
Irfan Pathan - 0 (in squad but not selected in any match - why????)
Abdul Razzaq - 0 (knee injury)
Marcus Trescothick - 0 (stress related illness)

Needless to say, if your team has a few Pakistan or India players your chances of winning are severely diminished since those teams missed the Super 8 stage.

Update: After editing the teams I think the main chances to win this game are (in no particular order):

arsalan660
Beny
Collyisamackem
mattw2323
Ragnash
samba22
simo_rulzzz
Swantastic

Others with some hope of winning are:

tg123
Trescothick
trissik
Mark5dc
Paul

The rest will struggle for a Top 10 finish, I feel. Vrock looks like a strong contender for the wooden spoon.

greg manages to hold on to first place with a slender lead but mattw2323 has closed the gap by 100 points. Five of the favourites are in the top 8 now and simo_rulzzz is off the floor but is spotting the leaders over 500 points! Can he run them down with a late challenge?

I've been waiting to see how this game would pan out. Good to see I'm in the hunt, though as usual with things I'll probably finish second or tenth!!!

LOL. I must have had some kind of Asian bias at the time. If me finishing with the glorious wooden spoon is a sign of my future then I'm not looking forward to opening my exam results... although I still have to sit most of exams.
