Your say on...

Hello FC users,

Recently a member proposed the idea of substitutions in game series.

admin has passed the idea* so I would just like to get your own thoughts on this.

My propsed terms, to keep the games as prediction based as possible are:
  • You may only substitute in a player once half of the series has passed
  • Only one substitution per manager
  • You may substitute either: Allrounder, Batsman, Bowler, Wicketkeeper
  • Substitions are NOT mandatory - it is purely optional
  • You may only substitute in your first-reserve player in each case
So what do you think of this?

*this is a short-term idea, straight swaps, while admin asks a coder if he can sort out that points are carried over when you substitute a player. (So if player X scored 2 points in the 1st game and was substituted for player Y who scored 3 points in the 2nd game - your total points would be 5)

Hi

I liked the idea of substitutions..but i thought it wud be good if the substitution could be made any time(not compulsorily after half the series) and also if the substituted player is one among the reserves(need not be the first reserve)...this is wat i felt

Cheers

I certainly think that is a good idea, it doesn't matter whilst the points for players are still a straight swap as you could just wait till the end of the series. However, to keep the risk of making a substitution high it would be better kept for the half way stage. This means you don't know how a player will perform for the rest of the series so the element of an unknown certainty is there.

The only problem of this would be that you choices for reserve players would then lose their meaning as being your 'next best' choice. I understand why you would want to choose from as many players as possible but we really want to keep the game prediction orientated.
