Blic 05

Love that game... but sometimes I find it hard for career players to advance quickly, because they start off rubbish. Like my created Panesar for example...any help?

Hi Speedboy Salesman, welcome to the forum.

In answer to your question, this is the way I came up with. (works best if you have two created players)

To get your own created players statistics up quickly is quite simple, play a double wicket match against any side but make them player 2. Then pick your one/two created players to play the match in your side, any opponents are fine - makes no difference to the outcome. Pitch conditions, best going for spin friendly (specially for Panesar) as this will allow for correction as accuracy of the bowler is poor. Just make sure the match is the maximum 10 overs (if memory serves) as this will allow you to take most wickets/runs.

Now to the match itself, it makes no difference whether you bat or bowl first, whatever takes your fancy really.

Batting: When you bat all you have to do is use the player 2 controller to set up some easy six balls and just continually smash them to get your runs up. Set totally leg side fields and hit the bowler over on the off side, make things easy for yourself. If you have two created players batting you can just take an over of sixes each, if you are using only one, simply rotate the strike off the final ball of each over by placing one fielder deep and hitting it to him whilst only running a single.

Bowling: Once again, having two created players works best as you get double the efficency for increasing stats by take wanted wickets at bowl ends. Just send down each delivery and make sure it will hit the stumps, move the player 2 batsmen to make 100% sure you'll hit them. Do this for 10 overs and you'll have taken close to 30 wickets with each of your bowlers - easy.

When you come to increasing stats increase accuracy to full straight away, this is so important if you play matches before having a decent level of stats as you won't go for any runs if you bowl it straight but will get punished for poor inaccurate bowling which you can do nothing about.

I hope this helps - it's rather unrewarding from an entertainment perspective and gets very tedius but it's the quickest way, I've found, to get stats up.

Wow, never thought of the double wicket thing! Hmmm.. now here the big question: How do improve fielding?

I'd forgotten to include this one, so here it is now.

You can't do a double wicket match for this way as you can't field in a double wicket match.

So, either test match or one-day game, it makes no difference really.

Pitch conditions etc. make no difference for this so just leave them as they are.

When selecting your side make your player the wicket keeper and once again have your opposition as player 2.

Once the match starts you want to bowl first, as it makes no difference who wins the toss as you control both sides it really doesn't matter if you win or lose the toss. Now pick any bowler and fire the ball down straight so that it won't hit the wickets and it will go to the keeper (your player), once the ball passes the bat run with the batsmen (using controller 2) and your keeper will run out the batsmen.

Keep doing this 10 times and you'll get loads of fielding points - easy stuff.

Once again, this is very tedius stuff but it's extremely effective.

I'm playing this now and all my created seam bowlers are pathetic. They'll only bowl at about 40mph tops. Any ideas why?

Im on xbox by the way.

I'm on x box too. When you start with seamers bowl the "slower ball" because it's set at about 60 mph.

What stats do you need to increase to increase their speed?

Control is definitely the best to increase first. If you want to bowl competetively with your created bowlers you need control or you'll be watching the ball go to the boundary all 'day'.

Although created pace bowlers only ever get to a maxium 80mph (I think it is). It's pathetic and having spin bowlers/batsmen is a much better way to get the most from your created players.
