Blic 07

I played a demo of it on Xbox 360 the other night, and it looked OK, apart from the fact that the players didn't look too much like their real life counterparts. Has anybody got this game? Is it really worth getting?

If you are looking for a realistic representation of cricket, you won't like it. A quick knockaround, however, and it may just be for you.

How does it stand up to the spin blowling aspect of the game ?05 was great for seamers but more often than not you only wickets with the spinners when they slogged out rather than any bat/pad type scenarios a la the original and later versions of EA stuff.

You do get LB decisions, yes. In fact, the mechanics of the game are very good. But it is so easy. One poor aspect is the high run rates; in tests batsman only play attacking strokes and generallythe run rate is 8 an over or so I played in one test match and on the first ball a shot was played down the ground for an easy two, however, the AI thought they could get a three and one guy got run out! First ball of a test match!

Also what was an improvement on 05 was the fact you could throw to either the wicketkeeper's end or the bowler's end, whereas in 05 you only threw to the wicketkeeper.

played the full version today, I'm not impressed enough to buy it. For one, I couldn't a way to change the players names like you can in 05 and it wasnt just a big enough improvement to get it.

If you play 20/20 stuff its OK, but anything other than that and there are a few bugs which spoil it.

The batting AI is terrible i've never yet seen a defensive shot! R/R's of 8-10 an over in test cricket?!?

The catching is seriously ropey as well it just doesnt seem right.

What I cant believe is that this game got through beta testing, either the testers wernt cricket fans or they rushed it for the W/C.

I've given up on modern Cricket games. I've just bought a 2nd hand copy of Shane Warne Cricket '99, the old PS1 game (BL '99 for Northern Hemisphere). It's sad when a cricket game that is almost 10 years old is the best out there.
