Email notification of all posts

How do I change my settings so that I don't get an email when anyone posts to a thread I have participated in? I am up to about 100 mails a day at the moment.

There are three ways to stop the email notifications. In Edit Options you can choose 'No email notification' or 'Do not subscribe'. This will act on all threads. Or you can unsubscribe from individual threads by two methods.

1. When viewing a thread click 'Thread Tools' and select 'Unsubscribe from this thread'.

2. Click List subscriptions in the User CP to see a list of threads you are currently subscribed to. Tick the threads you want to unsubscribe from and click Delete subscription from the dropdown menu at the bottom of the list.

An email notification will only be sent if you have received a reply within the timeout period of the current session. If you logout to end your session then you will only receive notification of the next reply until you log back in again and start another session. In otherwords, after you have finished a session you will only receive one email notification for the next new reply. You will not receive notifications for further replies until you login again and start a new session.

I thought I had done the first option but maybe my mouse roller moved my selection as I tried to move down the page. Does this have to be set for each pc I access the website from?

According to your profile in the Admin Control Panel your Automatic Thread Subscription Mode is set to 'Subscribe with no notification'. Therefore, you should receive no further notifications.

Regarding Private Messages, you have 'Send Notification Email When a Private Message is Received' set to Yes. So you'll still receive notifications for PMs.

No.

When changing settings the 'Save Changes' button at the bottom of the page must be clicked.

Now your Automatic Thread Subscription Mode is set to Do not subscribe. If the software is working correctly you shouldn't receive any notifications. Let me know if you do.

Are you getting email notifications of replies to threads you are subscribed to?

Click List subscriptions and tell me how many threads you are subscribed to. If there are no threads listed you are not subscribed to any and, therefore, you shouldn't receive any email notifications.

I am subscribed to 88, most of which have a notification of 'Instant', some have a notification of 'None'. Do you automatically get subscribed to a thread when you post to it?
