Excellent site...I'm still trying to convince my CC chairman to do something similar for us. He's probably too busy though.

As I can't send you a private email...I thought I'd do it here...if that's alright?

I'm a stats bore. I think I need to say that first. IT is afterall the crux of the matter.

I notice you have several aliases in your members list...
I guess you needed to put them there in the first place, so that it looked as though the boards where being used, in case it catch didn't catch on quickly.

From the point of view of stats...it (actually) IS quite interesting to see how many posts people have made. Annoying in the other place that several people have several aliases.

I sort of wondered, now that you ARE up and running - most definitely, why you don't amalgamate your many selves into just one Mike Dengler with a great many posts?

It's only late night idle curiosity...but it did strike me as slightly unfair that anybody should hit the first maiden century before you.

I guess you have plans on what to label post tallies. But first class high score lists must be in your mind. Brearley scored a triple century at Cambridge I think (yes 312*) according to StatsGuru. IT might surprise Rachael when you mention that beneath her 313th post.

Anyway thanks for reading and sorry if I shouldn't've put it there.

Great site

Cheers

Hi Oliver, I'm glad to know that you are enjoying the site. You may or may not know that I was posting on the BBC site and, out of sheer frustration with the slowness and early closing, I decided to set this site up at some personal cost.

What I hadn't factored was how much time it would take to learn the ins and out of the software to set up the various forums. I realize I haven't contributed much post-wise and feel guilty about that. Tonight, I'm reading a few threads to pick out some great posts to copy into the Great Posts forum. When the forum gets really big I won't be able to cope on my own.

As far as my other nicks are concerned: Mike, dengler7, temp - I needed those since there are different user categories with different sets of viewing and posting permissions and I had to use these nicks to confirm the settings for each usergroup. Example, to ban Vinoth from posting to the England forum but still allow him to view it, I created a new usergroup called Vinoth and set the required permissions but to test it I had to move my nick "temp" into it, then login as "temp" to make sure I could view the England forum but not be able to post to it. When I was satisfied, I moved temp out and moved Vinoth into that new usergroup from the one you are in called "registered users". So temp and dengler7 will not post to cricket threads, admin will just post on issues relating to the forum and Mike is the nick I use to post in cricket threads.

I'm interested to know why you weren't able to send me a Private Message. There is no email icon in the members list but if you click my username the link takes you to my public profile which contains an email link. Failing that, click "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page and your message will be forwarded to me.
