| Can't logon at work If you have trouble logging into our site because your company uses filter software, like Websense, to block sites such as messageboards then I may have a solution. I recently read of a workaround solution which I have implemented. Via my KDA account control panel I have created a "https" URL for this site. HTTPS stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer, or HTTP over SSL. All sites that transmit credit card information use this protocol instead of HTTP. Originally developed by Netscape, SSL - short for Secure Sockets Layer - has been universally accepted on the World Wide Web for authenticated and encrypted communication between clients and servers. SSL works by using a public key to encrypt data that's transferred over the SSL connection. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer protocol) is a standard for transmitting confidential data such as credit card numbers over the Internet. Most true business sites support this feature which allows more security in data transmitted over the WWW. *Never give out your credit card details unless the site URL starts with https. The URL is https://world-a-team.secure.assimilatedservers.net The https:// string at the start of a URL indicates that the connection is being made through SSL, the secured sockets layer. In other words, it is encrypted. Use this URL at work instead of http://world-a-team.com and you should be able to logon. A side-effect of this mode of operation is that you may get warnings about entering and leaving secure pages. If you prefer, you can disable these warnings by changing your security preferences on your browser. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable them for world-a-team.com but leave them enabled for other sites. Due to the encrypted donation script I have on every page of the site you may get a popup security warning: Quote:
1. I have removed the donation script from the "Original" style which you can select via the Quick Style Chooser drop-down menu at the bottom-left of any page. So, if you select "Original" and view the site in this style you won't get those security messages. The default style is "Wide with green background" which contains the donation script. 2. The security message is caused by your browser so you may have a setting in your browser to turn it off. In some Windows browsers try this: Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Internet zone > Custom Level > Display Mixed Content (Enable) > OK > OK
