| Ernie, I'm not blocking all links. Just experimenting with the censored words list. It is behaving differently with newer posts than with old posts. With old posts if the word or URL is removed from the censored words list the word/url will be restored. That is not the case with newer posts. The developers must have changed the code effecting this function in recent upgrades. I posted my observations to vBulletin.com in the following thread: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102744

| Sorry, ern, it was just a test for a post I did on vBulletin.com. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...243#post705243 The URL was just made up. I then deleted the post after I was done which was why you couldn't link to it from the email. The test revealed an interesting bit of info: I tried to do a partial search of the number within the url and got no result. I then discovered that the url exceeds the maximum word length that can be searched on our forum which is 20 characters. Since the url was too long it was never indexed and so neither a full or even partial search would find it. A word or url has to be indexed in the database first before a search engine will locate it. Since the current setting of 20 characters is so small most urls won't be indexed and, therefore, won't be searchable. So, why don't I increase the word length? I could but it would increase the size of the database. I'd prefer to use the extra server capacity for new posts.
