Chopra has failed miserably in this series which makes me think that my initial assessment that Yuvraj was a better bet. Specialist opener or not, Yuvraj is a player with a winner's mentality and you need as many of those in your side as you can get.

Aussies are clear favourites to land the knockout blow but it will be interesting to see if the Indian batting line up can make a stand and make the Aussies work for it.

Hmmm...scratch that last comment...just seen the score and at 33-4 India clearly aren't going to put up much of a fight

5 wickets...

It's always a worry when top players start getting bowled.

Exclamation You are right

Chopra has failed miserably in all the matches played so far , I think they should have played yuvraj slogger or not he can still bat and put some pressure of india for runs , or why not call of ramesh who played in the 1999 world cup he has got a good technique , and a similer sort of game plan to yuvraj , ramesh also scores quicker than chopra , and ramesh is strong behind square ,he plays good of the backfoot. he plays fast and spin bowling very well and can do some slow off breaks himself . india 86-5 28 overs sehwag 50 n.o patel 18n.o india and sehwag showinfg some fight something that the indian fans can cheer about.

Angry indias out of this

Just when india was playing good a wicket fell as and indian fan it is hard to say but india are out of this , india 105-5 still needing 400 odd to win this this looks impossible now .sehwags 50 was something to cheer about.

hmm..that is definitely one of the more unusual postings I have come across here... The prediction that India are not out of this seems extremely brave.

I am sure you weren't serious when you suggested that Sehwag, Patel and Agarkar et al could bat on for 4 sessions against McGrath, Gillespie and Warne... in case you were, must be disappointed as Sehwag is out already...

The 2001 Test in Calcutta involved two recognised, world-class batsmen playing out of their skins, a wearing pitch and lots of other variables which suddenly went India's way...hence it being called a 'minor miracle' . . .

I am not a mind reader, but I am sure Sehwag's mind set would not have been to hit out and score 530 runs in a day and a half.. his mind-set should have been to play his natural game and also occupy time at the crease.

Can Gillespie claim his first ten wicket match to remove him from the list of the best three bowlers not to achieve this feat (after Lindwall and Garner). When you play in a team with 3 (and often 4 class bowlers) the 10 wkt match is very very difficult. This is why is amazes me that some 'experts' rate players on how many 10 wicket match hauls they have.

Agreed..for instance, to say Hadlee was better than anyone else simply because he had more 5WI and 10WM, is not very clever at all... Marshall may not have had as many since he was bowling in an attack where everyone was capable of taking 6/7 wickets..
