| Could it be that Pakistan Played better ? IMO Pakistan's batting has been very consistent in all th recent wins and that is the reason for thier success.

well I have always stated that both india and pakistan are 'iffy' teams who would do well today and end up at the bottom of one the next day. Right now I think india are the strongest of the two by quite a long margin. 1)They have the better and more consistent batting team 2)They have the better all around bowlers as well as two top spinners. 3)They show the most committment of the two team on any given day. 4)They have a more balanced team in general with regards to guys who are settled in the batting lineup. ex. Pakistan has too many different players in both test and ODI teams with regard to batsmen..I think their opening batsmen are different in ODI'S to the ones who play tests and that is a general no no ..at lest the openers should be stable at the top even if a few changes are made in the middle.

For once, however, Pakistan actually look to have their coaching and internal politics under more control than India: I think the dressingroom is happier for the weaker team.. and that's currently giving them a big edge.

well the problem with pakistan over the years has been the issue with their captaincy and rivals to and for that captaincy...there was the mess and fighting between imran and Miandad, waqar and wasim and Inzaman and lord knows whom. What this coach needs to do is say look ' this guy is gonna be your captain for the next year - 18 months and his job is to lead this team to victories and your job is to get runs and wickets'. The other problem is the number of one test and two test wonders that they have been producing..way too many..they should look not only to spotting players but to developing them as well..

India's batting has let them down recently, and I can bottle that down to complecency, or in more strict terms even over confidence. Some of the Indian batsmen have been quilty of taking their forms for granted, you cannot afford to fall back and think that because you average so and so and you have previously made so and so runs in so and so places you'll just do that again without ever having to put as much effort into it. On the subject of us beating them over the past 4 one-day games I reall think that I can put that down to Pakistan exploiting that lack-of-form, and at time lack of luck to the very maximum, out of the 4 games on the trot we have won only one of them was a close encounter that being the one in Birmigham other wise in Sri Lanka, Amsterdam and Kolcatta our batsmen won the games for us on a canter.

I really think the statement "India are the strongest team of the two by quite a long margin" looks in your terminology "iffy" when you see that we have won the last 4 games we have played, and other wise as well, Pakistan have been respectable in their home series against Sri Lanka unlike India who lost against Australia, who were of coarse a tougher opposition than Sri Lanka, but the fact that you say India are better "by quite a long way" hasn't certainly gone down well with me at all. I do think, that even with a relatively under performing Sami and Akhtar at this stage our fast bowling at least if not the whole bowling attack on paper looks more pentrative than India's. Their batting is definately more experienced, and hence more established (and consequently much more raved about amongst international followes). What we hence prinicpally lack is experience. As far as comitment is concerned, I really have never understood why there are always so many people willing to question that aspect of our game. We try our best, and work just as hard to keep every one happy as India or any other team, without obviously not getting the same sort of results every time. As regards to our openers off later we have been trying quite a few different options because we have still not find the right answer, and our preference has always been to look to develope players that can adjust to both forms of the game, which is why we have seen the likes of Taufiq Umar been given chances at the one-day level. And even if we don't acheive that I don't think having different test and one-day openers is a "general no no". Australia for your knowledge has different openers for their test and one-days, and their test and one-day sides differ as well. England also have different openers for tests and one-days. With all due respect Don, I seriously think your concerns our over driven, all is well within Pakistan cricket, we are actually making more progress than India in a few departments, but a comparision is not the point, we are moving forward positively, and things are changing for the better, which is the most important thing right now.
