I should probebly add that, yes footwork is important however the bio-mechanics of Shewag's footwork do give him a 'bludgening' ability and he also seems to be one of those batsmen with a fantastic eye and natural ability to pick shots.

Sehwag's footwork, or should I say lack of it, is in some ways similar to Trescothick's, and when you have footwork like they do, you'll be either in devestating form (like Sehwag is now) or you'll be having a schocker (like he did in the one-days during England)

And when he is in good form more often than not, it makes him a formidable opponent.

But what is there to delight those of us who are not statisticians?

Depends on WHAT delights you cuz Sehwag;is a good performer and enteratiner.Unless u like someone like Dravid who has good footwork;technique;blah blah but also sends u to sleep;i dunno what u might not like abt sehwag.Im not saying this from the cricketing angle;but from the entertainment point of view.Anyway;its not Sehwag's fault that he isnt one of those stereotypes.

I have to agree that yes laxman looks clumsy at the crease but i don't think he is overrated since as we all know u don't have to be elegant to make runs. Some are blessed with it and some just aren't.

Rahul Dravid has it all yes (technique, patience ......) and it is because of him and his ability to stay at the crease so long and not necessarily score gives sehwag the green light to bat how he does.

However Dravid should try to improve his run scoring a little, cos a strike rate of 30, particularly if the rest of the team is struggling, is no good to anybody.
