Bangladesh v India, First Test

India won toss, elected to field. Bangladesh 59-5 off 20 overs. Kumble awaiting one more scalp to become India's leading test wicket taker. Another lop-sided contest, it seems.

Bangladesh all out for 180, five wickets for Pathan, Kumble is now two ahead of Kapil Dev, and is deservingly India's leading wicket taker in tests. Mohammad Ashraful top scored for the Tigers

What a waste of effort. India might as well have put out a devlopemental A team and they would still win this one.

I'm sure India will win easily in the end (they started at about 50/1 ON with Ladbrokes), but it was not plain sailing at the start of the innings - none of India's first three making much of a mark and all of them gone for 68 runs. Tendulkar and Ganguly have things under control now, but there seems to be a bit of life in Bangladesh. Good for them! I'm in favour of their carrying on against the big boys: the upset will inevitably come eventually!

lol.

Boy are they getting clobbered now. 50/5 just after tea, Pathan going berserk.
Zaheer Khan made 75, highest ever score by a number 11 !!

(even though it is against a pedestrian attack)...

Well, it's over before lunch on day 4. Lasted an hour or two longer than I expected. The winning margin, an inning and 120 runs, about normal for B'desh I think.

India should float in the A squad for the second test, but then ICC will butt-in and oppose that.
