I haven't seen Gambhir play. But I was a staunch supporter of Chopra and firmly believe his career has been jeopardised for the sake of finding an attacking opener and somehow including Yuvraj Singh.

He did play well in his limited capability. He would never be a Hayden, but we needed a solid opener and IMO he had the technique. But he was told to score quick or get lost. He tried to change his technique in a short time and lost it all.

Now we have selected yet another opener. I wish Gambhir luck and hope he gets a fairer treatment.

I'm not sure, we have enough flamboyant players in the team, someone like Chopra, who has a few brains about him, would be better suited to give the team a better balance. He was critical towards India's success in Australia. I get the feeling this current side would get skittled like the Pakistani's are.

So true!In my opinion Gautam Gambhir cannot be judged by his performance against B'desh.Ofcourse,im not jumping to conclusions abt him cuz its too early to say anything. But I've seen chopra play and hes really delivered in crunch situations.I really like the combo of level headed Chopra for unpredictable Sehwag. If ppl wanna axe him for his peformance againt Aus they ought to do the same to Dravid,Ganguly and the others who were no better. And then even before the Aussies' tour, there was so much crap being said abt Yuvraj being a possible opener even after Chopra's fine peformances. That thing must have dented his confidence.

Well its dented the confidence of both players, the way they've been juggled about. I don't see Yuvraj back in the eleven anytime soon, and to be honest, he really didn't do much wrong.
