Post Facilities for cricketers

Aussies are best cricket team in world and I think that they deserve to be on top place. I went to Australia recently and i was surprised by facilities provided to young cricketers. they have got place to grow up. they have universities of sports in which all funds from govt. go to improvements. thats why Australia produce cricketers like McGrath and Warne. where as in India where cricket is in blood of people, no good facilites are provided. facilities are provided but to people who live in cities like Delhi,Mumbai. no boy from small town can dream of getting in team no matter how good he plays. in the end i will say that if every city in india is provided with good facilities, India will come up with 10 Sachin Tendulkars, 10 Irfan Pathans and may be 10 of all!!

more over not only aus, pakistan too produced some great fast bowlers and a nice batsman, coz they only see potential in player either the player is rich or poor.

If u have stuff,u gottta selected.

lets hope the situation changes soon.

That is all true, but with our economy improving and with our nation getting richer, the governments (whoever is elected) will surely invest a bit in sports, not just cricket but all sports. And perhaps in 5 or 10 years time, our infrastructure will be comparable to the best....

Not really...Talent always comes through our system...Look at all the Yuvrajs, Pathans and the others....I am just saying that our infrastructure is always gonna improve and maybe the young talent of the future will be taken better care of....That doesn't mean the present talent will go unnoticed...

As an Aussie i can understand what you mean.. I suposse having a small population gives us an advantage that way.

Perhaps the best thing India can start doing is getting more qualified coahes out into the public. People who are going to coach young kids and perhaps work in the poorer areas of the nation. I know I first got into coaching because it was requiered by the rules of my association if I wanted to coach a junior team. I was also sponserd by my club. At the end of the day though, all the acadamys like the A.I.S, V.I.S ,N.S.W.I.S ect only take in players who generaly already play at a very high level. So long as kids have a bat, bowl and pitch you can always make great players provided they have soebody to teach them.

Don Bradmen practised with a stump and a golf ball.
