Tendulkar out of Asia XI

Tendulkar has opted out due to the advice given by the physio.

He'll still show up to watch the game, but I reckon this is pretty stink for the occasion.
He is after all a cricketing icon.

i dont understand why he was selected for the tie in the first place?I understand he is a mega-star,crowd puller, etc. But sachin had made it clear immediately after the Bangladesh tour that he would avoid participating in cricketing fixtures so that he can allow his injury to heal, which is I think is a good idea.

I am not questioning his commitment.I just mean to say that his team might find it a disadvantage if he doesnt bat.
