what if Gangully doesn't gets injured?

Godforbid Gangully, during the Pakistan series, gets injured and is not available for the entire pakistani series (which i think should happen because our fielding will improve) ? Whom do you guys think should the captanship given to ? Whom do you think can handle this aprocryphal decision ?

I think Rahul Dravid should be the best choice even if there is Gangully;
After Rahul, Kaif should be given a chance since he captaned the side that won the Under 19 worldcup some years back.
Gangully frankly doesn't deserve to be in the Indian team! There are far more better player than him. He seriouslly needs to imporve his fieldning!
After that we can try Sehwag!

What do you think guys ?

I cannot agree more. Not only is Ganguly a very poor fielder, but is a terrible captain. India would be far better off without him for sure. A team with that much talent is wasted with him at the helm and i have said as much on many occasions in this forum. Good to see an Indian agrees with me.
I think dravid would be the best initial choice. He is well respected by his team and by all cricketers and fans around the world. He showed he has ability as captian - he was captain in the only test India won against the Aussies recently.

I think Sourav. His influence is good on the Indian Team and is a good captain although i detest him. Keep Sourav.

With all due respect Ganguly might not be a popular name over seas but he is, nevertheless, India's most successful ever test captain. And he might raise a few eye brows to your criticisms if he were to find out.

He is a good captain, though i hate to admit it. His feilding certainly isnt up to scratch and of the top six batsman, he is easily the weak link. If he does get injured, the reigns should fall to Dravid.

Zainub, He for sure is the most successful indian captain after Azar, but every captain has their day! and Gangully should realize itself and just let other youngster perform. He hasn't scored a single 100 in a year. A worse fielder at covers and short deep midwicket! Although he may taken a few good catches there.....

Dravid should get the privilige of captaining the Indian side.
Gangully's days are almost over!

Hmmmm.....I very strongly feel that saurav da is best suited....its like he was born to be the indian captain...and captaincy requires a lot more than individual brilliance.Still my 2nd choice would be Kumble.

Kumble is getting old though, we need to look into the future here. Of the youngsters, Mohammad Kaif looks to have a cool head.
