M.S.Dhoni-India`s best wicketkeeper?

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, according to me, is the best wicketkeeper in India at the moment,by a long way. He can be picked in the ODI team of India as a pure batsman. No specialist Indian wicketkeeper has scored a magnificent knock like his 148 at Vizag. It was not a flash in the pan performance as he has scored loads of runs in domestic cricket. I think he should be automatically included in the test team as well, though it would be hard on Dinesh Kaarthick. Dhoni`s glove work has also been exceptional and no faults until now. So, the Indians have wasted all the time picking Parthiv Patel in spite of his repeated failures.Dhoni should end India`s elusive search for a genuine wicket-keeper batsman.

While its too early to tell as yet, I think Dhoni definately has the goods. But one musn't forget so did Ajay Ratra, and look what happened to him.

My sentiments are the same as vvv...Don't rush him into the test side, Karthik has done nothing wrong and is starting to show the goods now. Dhoni, after a slow start, has rampaged into the arena....Good luck to him, and just remember vvv, he is the keeper for our India A team..

Dhoni is good but I think it is not right to say him the best Indian wicket keeper. He is still very young and he has not even played a test. His century was great but as vvv has said there have been players like Ajay Ratra who has also scored a century. He probably needs more support from his captain so that he can play in tests also.I think he is a better wicket keeper than Kartik but Kartik has showed that even he can bat in pressure situations as he batted in the 2nd test against Pakistan.

Yep, it would be too soon if Dhoni was awarded his first test cap, Karthik is beginning to show his goods and he should be given the time. And plz forget abt Parthiv for the time being! I've seen him in domesitc cricket and his keeping still has a lot of flaws. But yes one thing I like about that guy is his gutsy batting, very inspiring.

I think Kaarthick is still the better option for tests. For ODIs, it is obviously Dhoni. This seems to be working out for us at the moment. So why change it now?

Exactly, both teams should settle with two keepers who do the job. And these two definately are.

Dhoni

Dhoni is india's best wicketkeeper batsmen EVER since rahul dravid. It's not about achievements when you look at dhoni, it's obvious he's here for good and the faster you bring him into the test matches the better. Imagine what gilchrist wouldve done had he started playing tests at the age of 22-23
