Depends entirely on how many runs Ganguly scores; if he makes a hatful, Chappell will be powerless to drop him, especially since the players back him, and he has the support of Dalmiya.

About time too, Dravid is a much nicer person and a better skipper. |Perhaps Ganguly will start getting some runs now.

Not long IMHO it will only take Ganguly to have one bad series with the bat and I think Chappell will get him dropped completly.

I would not be suprised if he doesn't even get into tommorow's squad

This is great news. India will now hopefully get back on track and show some form as a team. Im not sure how Rahul Dravid will captain but im sure he will be better for India then Ganguly.

I don't think Ganguly will remain in the team any futher. He is at the moment "injured" and is highly unlikely for him to play in the Sri Lankan series. When he returns to play cricket again i doubt he will score many runs, he is finished as a batsmen and needs to retire IMO.

I hope this is a new sign for success, we will now see a better Indian side, hopefully.

This is bad news for England, Dravid is a much better captain with more respect from his players.

Ah but Dravid has not been confirmed as skipper for the England series and it possible he may be an interim skipper, also his record as skipper is not great (his batting average drops to Vaughan levels when skipper)

I don't think a lot of uncertianty and back biting is bad for England at all

But his appointment surely is good news for Indian Cricket. Ganguly may have the support of the players but thats becoz he's a very big name in Indian cricket. Its people like Dravid who not only have the backing but also respect of everyone. Hope this is finally the end of Ganguly the captain. Hmm, when did we last have a graceful exit by a skipper...cant remember! Maybe before I was even old enough to spell kricket correctly.....oops!

India obviously has the potential to be the #1 cricket nation in both forms of the game but I think their ego's get in the way far too often. Something needs to be done for sure over there.
