| what are the best Indian cricket bats???? Hey people, Ive got a mate coming down to Australia from India soon and says he can bring back a really good bat alot cheaper than AUstralian bats. Can anyone tell me if this is a good way to go. Or is it too dodgy to buy a bat from overseas without ever having seen it before???????? I have a budget of about $250 Australian. And this guy is actually a mate and trusworthy. I want a nice chunky bat but it must also be pretty light - medium to light weight. |

| Mathew Hayden used a Grey Nicholls - Gladius to score his world-record 380. Ponting, Langer and Martyn use Kookaburra. Steve Waugh used MRF. Here is a good article on bat care. Other discussions of bats are here and here. Inzamam-ul-Haq used this CA Plus bat to blunt England in the last Test match. Perhaps you can get an answer to your question from the people who run this site. Amongst their range of bats is this good Indian bat from BAS called the BAS Vampire Blaster. A range of other BAS Vampire models. Quote:

| Hey thanks for your feedback dudes. I was talking to the guy today. He has played alot of cricket in both India and Australia. He reckons you can get much better value for money in Indian bats. He also said that Indian bats generally crap all over our ones and are half the price - he reckons Indian bats are alot more chunky, solid, have massive edges and bows. He showed me his SG bat and it was very nice indeed. He says they are easily the best and also said that MRF and Brittania are only big brand names because of the players they sponser (Tendulkar, lara). Apparently their bats are not the MRF's sold in shops - their bats are way different - as good as an expensive SG but with MRF and Brittania stickers all over them. After all that Im going to go for an SG. i went to all the local aussie bat shops today, then at the end of the day had a look at this guys SG and i was imediately sold. He paid 130ish Aus dollars for his and it is awesome. Im spending about $230, which is about 7,500 Indian Rupees - and with this he reckons ill have a bat almost as good as Tendulkar's!!!!!!! Thats under double what he paid for his SG and his one is very nice indeed. Look forward to toning up with the SG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. In Australia a bat as good as this would fetch over $500 which should be about 15,000 Rupees!!!!!! Last edited by julser56 : 30-11-2005 at 01:08 PM. |
