Mankad-Roy record at risk

The World Record for an opening partnersip in Test cricket has stood for 52 years in the name of Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy. Smith & McKenzie are only 9 runs away from breaking it in Bangladesh. How would we feel if it was broken tomorrow?

Mildly annoyed at not having been there to see it happen, I think.

Actually, I might be able to see it if the right channel is available in Hantsdoc, the Out Of Hours service in Basingstoke where I am on-call tonight. They have a Sky TV but not sure what channel this match will be on.

Although I am an Indian, I will not be upset if they pass 413. Records are there to be broken. I recall that when Oz toured Windies in 1965, Bobby Simpson & Bill Lawry made an unbroken parnership of 349 on the first day and I was actually hoping that they would go on and beat the record. Those were exciting times for a 10-year old. But Simpson got out for 201 with the score at 382.

I know its totally out of the context(and somewhat irrelevant to the topic of discussion)but still i want to ask these questions to Nostromo(just out of curiosity)

Nostromo,r u a doctor by profession or something similar?(seen the word on-call in your previous message thats why this query) and my second doubt is about your age, from what i can guess from your message is you must be 53 years old by now.Am i rite?
I will be more than surprised if the answer to my both queries were yes from you.Mainly because being a doctor in early 50s you were able to spend quality time in watching and discussing cricket in forums like these-Amazing

All the above comments were just an imagination(or better an Assumption) of my poor brain-so please don't mind if i offended you unknowingly

Looking for your reply

I just "saw" the Mankad-Roy record being broken on Cricinfo. Well done Smith & McKenzie.
