A new era it is! Hope its better than the Wright-Ganguly one. India learnt how to go about the business in the right way. Hope this time around they are able to finish it off in style as well.

No, ganguly was a better captain

Im sorry but i totally disagree, even though i am a paki and a paki fan to the core, i think ganguly is one of the greatest captains india has ever had, and he should be brough back into the team and made captain again, dravid is clearly suffering in the new role as captain i.e he is not able to play well, i dont count his innings on flat pitches as any achievement he needed to stand up to the attack in the last test match like ganguly and yuvraj did!!!

Well so you like ganguly more than Dravid. But how does that not make Dravid's captaincy a new era?

Personaly I believe that ganguly was a great captain. But a captain must lead with example and lack of form on the part of a captain can have serious implications, specificaly when the lack of form extends for two years.

I think Dravid had done a very decent job so far as a captain. He started with the Sri Lanka tour and did a very good job. Then came one-dayers with SA. SA played very well and India only managed to draw the series. But still I thought Dravid did a good job. In Pakistan, again I think he has done a decent job so far. One match does not make him a bad captain.

As far as his own form is concerned, I am not at all worried about it. He has been in pretty good form of late. One match does not prove anything.

He is doing fine and only time will tell us whether he is a better captain than ganguly. Right now, a comparision is not justified as he has only started off. Leadership is something that one learns with practice and his start is good.

I do agree it is the new era.. but not a better one, to further my point here are some statistics

dravids average as captain 34.85 in 10 matches and this is with the tons on the two flat pitches

India's most successful captain Sourav Ganguly, averaged 37.66
in 49 matches 75 innings with 2561 runs and a highest of 144

Now Domain... compare for yourself and tell me how can you replace ganguly with dravid... ganguly is still playing and with these figures it is atrocious to replace him..... furthermore.. dravids on field strategies are apparent to all.... in the last one dayer in peshawar only.. he bowled irfan pathan out on a trot thus limiting his capacities to bring him on when ajit agarkar was getting blasted all over the ground, and he super subbed tendulkar... who is a well reputed bowling option at the death.... the results are before us... its not just one match sorry...
