They need at least two reserve wicket-keepers and if Balaji is fit,I would select him instead of Agarkar.

I believe he is still playing First Class cricket. I don't believe he is a good ODI player, his bowling is expensive and his batting is not that great.

Its going to be tough for him to come into the ODI considering Dinesh Mongia and Ramesh Powar can both bowl spin and bat better then Karthik.

Anyways he has been an interest from a county in England, full news here:

Cheers CC. If I was to choose who I feel are the best 15 players in Indian ODI cricket, free of bias and based on performance, this would be my squad:

Rahul Dravid (c)
Sachin Tendulkar (vc)
Virendar Sehwag
VVS Laxman (Perhaps not in starting XI)
Yuvraj Singh
Mohammand Kaif
Gautam Gambhir (backup)
MS Dhoni
Irfan Pathan
Anil Kumble (Over Harbhajan, we need some mental fortitude in the team)
Hemang Badani (Underrated in my books)
Suresh Raina (More as backup)
Ramesh Powar
L. Balaji
S.Sreesanth (would pick him over Balaji over recent experience)

No room for the inconsistant Agarkar, who quite frankly has used up his chances I feel. Dravid can handle the stumps if Dhoni is ever ruled out. Harbhajan needs to do more to make himself worthy in my opinion. Reputation alone won't do it.

I disagree with you there vvvrulz, Agarkar has been bowling very well recently, he was one of the postive things to come out the 4-1 trashing we got from West Indies. For the past 18 months he has justified his place in the team with very good bowling, plus he is a handy lower order batsman.

These are Agarkar bowling record in the past 10 games, very good figures in my opinon. His economy rate has fallen consideribly compared to his career average.
