Wonder why Railways-opener was asked to attend India's practice session in Faridabad...he is in form and India are looking for openers...could he get to play later in the series? I was very surprised to see Dinesh Mongia's name not discussed for the ODIs. He's the most prolific batsman in domestic cricket and also getting quite a few wkts.

India win the second ODI, but top order?

Team India is high on its second victory over England in as many matches. But the glaring question remains. Just because we won, should we forget that the top order is not firing. Sehwag for once looked as if he is going for a good score, when stupidity set in. Gambhir though is turning out to be a find. I mean when Sehwag bats his strike rate is rarely overtaken. But yesterday was not one of those days. And Kaif who put up a solid display against England in the practice match failed both times. I feel really bad because good players, when given a chance do not utilize it. Now a few days later people will ask questions if he should be in the team just because of his fielding. And what was Rahul Dravid thinking? He is getting run out too many times nowadays. Taking risky singles is an exciting part, but this one was way too risky. But well, who am I to say, these are all experienced players. They should sit by themselves, sans their huge egos, watch the replays and try not to repeat them. But I guess, who cares as long as we are winning?

Comprehensive win for India after a long time

The third ODI was definitely better performance by the Indians. Pathan's intelligent bowling with a caveat that he will not bowl at those speeds all the time was the key along with Yuvraj's century, what say you guys?

Add my name on the list, pal.

Getting back to the topic, after India's victory against England, coach Greg Chappel said that the changes in the playing XI would be reduced. He said he still wants to have Kaif and Sehwag in the team as he believes they can deliver.

Welcome Karthik and mariornakar to the Bharat Army, I am hoping to discuss some indian cricket with you guys, so visit regulary!

Kaif and Sehwag can be excellent players for the Indian team, they certainly have the talent but they are not delivering at the moment. When Sehwag gets it right, nearly always India are off to a great start which is certain for 300+ score, he scores at such a fast pace that the momentum spreads to the other players as well. Kaif's fielding is brilliant and he is one of the best fielders in the world at the moment, his presence in the field is invalauble, he often saves 20-30 runs a innings but he needs to perfrom with the bat to keep his critics quiet.

What can i say about the 3rd ODI guys, it was an excellent performace by our players, we have really turned into ODI gods! I for one would have laughed at the person who said before this season that India will enjoy series wins such as Sri Lanka 6-1 and Pakistan 4-1.

This season in ODI's Pathan has been excellent and so have Yuvraj and Dhoni. The future of Indian cricket is looking very, very bright!

Thank you very much Waseem.

As you can see I am a newbie, never knew about this forum. This is very exciting. And the best part is you can get views of people from almost all cricketing nations. But it seems that the number of supporters is not proportional to the population of the countries. But I guess we can battle it out if necessary

Mohammed Kaif should score good runs in the remaining three one-dayers or he might lose his place in the side. But he should still be in the team because he can bat at times and his fielding his outstanding.

I am afraid Kaif will find it difficult to retain his position if he doesnt score runs in the rest of the series. This team is getting competitive now. It will be bad as I think he is a very good player.

Kaif is batting style is natural to Test cricket but he can play as well as anyone in the Indian ODI on his day, he has shown us this in the Natwest Final agianst England when he made than incredible 80 odd from 70 odd balls. He is a very important part of our set-up in ODI cricket, he is one of the best fieldsman in the team and he saves about 20-30 runs each innings fielding in the covers.

Lets hope he ends the series on a high note. Remember at the start of the season he was one of our most in-form batsmen and he also scored a magestic hundred in the warm up match against England recently so he isn't in bad form, he has just been unlucky.
