Dada dropped again - is this the end of road?

with Yuvraj injured, was it correct on part of selectors to drop dada? should he be given one more chance?

Dada should be given chance so should Laxman, Kumble, and Zaheer khan. Currently India is playing lots of cricket instead of sticking with the same team these players should be given chance and see if they perform

I heard somewhere that India is going to play 35 to 40 ODIs in 2007. If so I think at least 25 players should be contracted to play test and ODI and players like Dada should also play in rotation base. No player should be neglected like these. This will prevent player burnout.

Its certainly not the end of the road. The selectors have been doing a good job lately and I think we should trust them for a while and put an end to the dada topic. He is out of the team and is unlikely to be taken again till he does something noteworthy in domestic cricket. Its no use opening a new thread on it everytime a new team is selected.

Wink Only Ganguly knows

Current indian team has a bunch 20 young and consistent cricketers under coach greg and able leadership of rahul
at this point of time even a better fielder like kaif and dashing opener like sehwag were struggling to find a permenant place in the team,so i really doubt that laxman and zaheer returning to the indian team
if you look carefully zaheer has lost considerable amount of pace and venom which he used to have 2 or 3 years before and he always and almost looks jaded when he plays (even for mumbai) nowadays
even in his good old days he was not known for very much or swing, but for hitting the deck, ritenow he is not the same as he was before, ashish nehra would be an much better choice than zaheer
Zaheer's abilities are vastly restriced compared to agarkar or even a rp singh
on laxman point of view,he is still a match winner on his day,but this day will not come regularly anymore for him due to his persistent injuries to the knee area which makes him very very poor runner between the wickets or in the outfield, even his much hyped catching abilities behind the stumps as a slip fielder is slowly getting carried away from him ,i can remember atleast a catch or two(mostly very lolly pop ones) droped by laxman in his all matches he played since the starting of the season last summer(both in one days and test matches)this shows his reflexes are getting poorer and poorer
Ganguly can comeback only if 2 or 3 of the middle order batsmen we have now performs consistently poorly in the westindies series even then chances are not much only slight hope due to his past records(provided he keeps playing the local matches and keeps him match and form fit)
Only player out four you have mentioned have more chances than others in getting looked for the odi's in wc2007 is anil kumble
Last but not least the current indian team is byfar the better odi team we ever had in the past(because we never won so many matches in consistent like now with each player contributing at the right time)
Hope the selectors will not change this combination for sometime to gel them into strong group of youngsters
