A couple of teams last time round, namely England and New Zealand had the Aussies all in tatters. And yet they blew it completely. Therefore despite them thrashing India in the final, I wasn't entirely convinced theyre the absolute number one team.

Theyre capable of choking, and I think this time round its going to happen.

India certainly have the talent. And they are very, very hard to beat on their home soil. They must be a very good chance you would have to think.

I dont think Indians will be favourites, especially after the experience of one day series in WI. as correctly pointed out by VVVrulz India is very unpredictable side they can be downright pathetic when its not their day. Indian team has never been known for its consistency. So its very difficult to predict judging by current performances. Last time India peaked up just at the right time and made to the finals but after that it went into a big slump. i think some credit must go to Ganguly for taking team to the finals of last world cup but i'm not sure rahul dravid has that capability. But who knows what will happen? if italy can be world champs why Indians cant emulate them?

WW i agree that indian team is unpredictable
but don't forget they were never looked so pathetic as like srilankans few weks ago or for that instance england few years ago(especially in odi's)
i still believe india is tehre among the top 3 team to get the cup
being indian i might sound biassed but thats what going to happen when you witness it yourself in windies in 2007

Thumbs down i think vvrulz hates INDIA

then did you watch the defeat of kiwi'sagainst england in uk 2005
or did you watch austarlians poor defeat against saf in odi's at south africa
or did you watch srilanaka's very recent home series defeat agaisnt pakistan
or did you watch england 's meagre performance in home against srilanka
vvrulz
you can't stay with just one bad series of defeat against newzealand(in a tailor made poor cricketing wicket) that too way back in 2002-03
if thats your case then no team is perfect or good every one is pathetic
