Welcome to the board User Name,
I am sure the young indian side will play with pride, but experience may well be needed to beat teams like Australia, although in India you sure did give them a scare.

England got some good young players together and soon had a decent team, no reason why India should not do the same.

Thumbs up fair chances for INDIA to win the WC2007

i think that india is preparing itself to win the world cup, after the greg chappel had taken up the responsibility(COACH)......chappel told every one includinng the senior members of the team that he requires only those players who are fit and contribute their part cosistently..and the senior members should take a break when they are not in a good form....He aims at a team which has balanced the young and experienced members in it and a bench ful of players so that he can change the team composition when matters..............

Welcome User Name, I'm sure you'll have a good time posting here...

I have always believed that just about any team can win the WC...It depends on who has the greater hunger and/or match-winning temperament on the day...

I'd love to see an Indian team with all their best players fit and well. And, the way SA plays these days, you have nothing to fear from us!

India has a big chance to win the world cup but it depends how our players play, im most worried about our bowling attack will they be able to win us matches? Pathan was our main strike bowler in ODI's but he has been dropped many times and has been in low confidence, Balaji is injured, Munaf, Sreesanth and VRV are all in-experianced.

It really depends on momentum. This team can slide from awesome to downright pathetic very quickly. If they can go into the World Cup with a bit of confidence, there is no doubt they can take it all the way.

Unhappy Pathetic Bit too harsh on India

from good to downright pathetic? thast bit harsh vvrulz
off late (in fact last 3 years )India is one of the most consistent team in the world be it test or one dayer
they have not had long draught of odi losses or tets series losses(except the recent winides series)
so i would not agree on the word downrighht pathetic (they always done better than their seniors i mean the past players and the team)
No one expected India to go till final in south africa 2003
Every cricket expert in the TV's and News paper written off the Indian team which lost its New zealand series prior to the world cup last time(more hyped about the sporting pitches of southafrica)
and most of the media and cricket pundits expected south africa and australia to be in the final with more chances for south african victory
but what happen, indian which had very poor start in the world cup
agaisnt holland and australia was the to enter the fianl not the hosts with exception of australia all the other matches india won during the tournament
even this time around the same could happen
i mean most of the media is expecting less chances for indian side to win the world cup in windies after their porr odi series
but i hope they will prove every one wrong this time also like the last world cup

Hehe yeah it probably is a bit harsh.
Those bad memories of their tour to NZ still live in my memory unfortunately, and they were pretty bad during that tour, to say the least.

But they to have a tendency to slide from one extreme to the other, after all the World Cup in '03 was right after that disastrous tour.
