Tendulkar

I have like many others lamented the sheer difference between Tendulkar of 1994-1999 and his batting of late. Many, many failures and the occasional huge score. For a long time now he has consistently not looked the best player in the team, often outplayed (not only in scores but in manner) by Lazman and Dravid. It was very disappointing to see.

HOWEVER, since returing from this long injury lay off, he seems to be batting absolutely beautifully. Admittedly it is only one day stuff, but he really is batting better (I have been watching Sky live today and yesterday) than at any time since the last world cup. I am actually now pretty optimistic that in tests Tendulkar can regain some of his former performances. Even the most ardent fan would have been disappointed to see him past his best. Maybe this rest has rekindled his desire and talents.

I am now really looking forward to seeing him bat in the test series in South Africa.

True. Sachin's form seemed to have returned...Some good scores in the last couple of Limited overs matches he played.

A century against the Windies, a 67 yesterday and another 72* off only 49 balls for India Blue.

Would love to see how he goes in the CT now...

Tendulkar is in fabulous form and should continue his positive scoring into the test arena. He's such an amazing player when he's playing shots for runs and not just trying to fight for them.

Tendulkar is definitely back and that is bad news for England as India will be the first team we face. Kaif on the other hand is a shadow of his former self. Watching that match today Yuvraj Singh took the best catch I have ever seen.

He did embellish it a little but it was a great catch. Sachin's knock today was marvellous to watch, especially his demolition of Chawla, clearly making a point before Chawla gets ahead of himself!

True. Isn't it amazing though how a player, any player, seems to look so good when they're playing shots...and look so horribly awful when they "fight for runs"...?

That's very true and any batsman in test cricket can play either style of cricket in an innings. It's just that the averages players get out to the good length balls and guys like Tendulkar and Lara hit a classical boundary.

Genius.

Saw some highlights of Tendulkar's knock; timing, timing and more timing... genius.

yes ..he's indeed worked hard on his fitness and batting .that's why he was able to make a strong comeback.....and don't forget his sixes .(5) in his 141* against WI .....shows that he now has a some plan for upcoming world cup....and so he's my best player...... as ever

No doubt about Tendulkar's acheivements, however there is an end to every story. I think Tendulkar should gracefully retire after the world cup and give way to awesome new players like Sureh Raina. Perhaps Dravid can follow Tendulkar as well.

If he does decide to retire after the world cup, he will want to go out with a bang. And that could be excellent news for India's hopes towards winning it.
