As far as i can remember i think Craig White may have the fastest recorded on a speed gun at 97mph - it doesnt mean it was an accurate measurement though!

I was at Durham in the ODI when Harmi was clocked at over 95.5mph - he looked quick too.

I dont think they had speed guns when Malcolm played tests but he did have a go in the Lords indoor school when he was about 40 and hit 86mph with his loosener and then got 90mph with his next ball.

Yes didn't Malcolm top the county averages for a couple of years late on in his career, he was a potent county bowler for quite a while.

Enough of all this mystery

It's time to set a date, time, place, scientific measuring equipment and a TV crew.

And invite Steyn, Nitini, Akhtah, Sami, Broad, Harmison, Bond, Sreesanth, Sharma, Malinga, Bravo, Tait, Lee and Johnson

And see who is walking the walk as well as talking the talk.

Who cares? The fastest serve ever recorded in tennis was (and may still be) a ludicrously fast ball from Greg Rusedski.... and the return of serve was a clean winner - if you bowl dross at a great pace it just goes to the boundary faster than slower dross.

Ahktar and Lee would be the quickest out of that lot.

well its always interesting to know..who has the ability to bowl at speed not neccessarily what the fastest ball is...
you have to admit it is a dimension in one's bowling...

Yeah, and they have the least straightest arms out of all the current quickies - what does that tell you

That tells me they are bowling within the current laws of cricket, otherwise they would be called for chucking.

What is it telling you ?
