No my friend how can you say ASIM KAMAL? He is not that good and I am a paki fan. Now Afridi has a chance.

No, I also wouldn't have Smith. He hasn't scored a bundle of runs for quite a while now and looks to be getting out pretty quickly. His form will return but not at the moment.

Afridi as the best batsman?? He will have to play consistently for at least two years to graduate to a batsman from a hitter. Have nothing against him, he is playing realy well right now....looks like playing sensibly in the last two tests. But best batsman??? he is nowhere close to it.

I'm new to the forums and am looking forward to being a member .
On current form i would say that Ricky Ponting is the best in the world but the best in the world overall is Brian Lara. Ricky is on very good form at the moment and deservers his spot as the best batsmen in the world at the moment. Lara however is just amazing and is the leading run scorer in tests which is some hell of an achievement. Both excellent though.

With an average around 80 in both forms of the game in the last year and a half, surely the answer has to be Hussey 'currently.' Wheres Mohamood Yousuf also?

would agree with all of that.Mo-Yo definitely deserves a spot up there and should be one of the first names mentioned going on "current" form.

I cheated and voted Ponting and Inzi. The ultimate test of a great batsman is the ability to perform in the face of adversity and single-handedly win games for their team. It never ceases to amaze me how regularly those two guys come up with the goods.
