Totally opposed to the idea of Australia batting - as it looks like they are going to do - I think this is a scaring from India

We are getting hammered here.

The thing that ticks me off is bowlers holding the ball up to effect praise from the crowd. When I say they I don't mean Aussies; I mean bowlers.

Who do they think they are?

Don't they realise the game was created so us batsmen can wollow in the glory of achievement? These bowlers must understand the game consists of three parts. They bowl it, we hit it, they go and fetch it!!

"A moment of amusement as McGrath bends and staggers off like an octogenarian .... a dig at those so willing to write him off as past it. He's earned the right to do that ..."

Could be Ponting wants to get about 800 in front, and rub Englands nose in it.

I think Ponting is scared of having to face Giles in the 4th innings

Another poor decision. We have been given the chance for Harmy to get a bit of rhythm. Why would Ponting give a chance for our bowlers to get some form?

Not just giving us a chance of our bowlers finding form for later but also giving us more chance of saving the match.Instead of having to bat out 220 overs we will now only have to face around 185.I know it is extremely unlikely that England could save the game but what happens if they reach day 5 and another storm appears like 8 years ago?

One of the commentators is putting forth the possibility that the Australians are more worried about Englands batting line up than they are about the bowlers.

So by batting again and forcing the English to bat on a Gabba pitch with wide huge cracks, if they fail to get a score again that will hopefully give them a mental scaring for the rest of the tour.

Either that or Seamer flip a bonus to Ponting so he will see a full days game on the Fourth day.

Just a thought on Harmison not bowling at the moment.Maybe we are going to replace him with Panesar and go in with 2 spinners and 3 quicks for the rest of the series. Can't see any reason for him not to be bowling unless they have already decided to drop him.

As for the Aussies not enforcing the follow on,maybe they are protecting McGrath to make sure he doesn't burn out until they are 3-0 up.
