Bell reaches 50, he is handling Lee and Mcgrath OK - but he keeps trying to drive the wrong ball of Lee, that was the problem with Strauss yesterday - pulling a ball not short enough.

I wonder how much one day cricket is having an effect on shot selection.

Thommo on openers - ther should just stay there until the ball gets softer. TMS 25/Nov - I agree.

Clarke drops Pietersen, or hardly gets a hand on it - Lee bowling well.

Pietersen out LBW NOT playing a shot of McGrath, another poor shot selection.
79-4

Fkintoff out poking at nothing - ball just outside off stump - Flintoff just poked at a fast ball.

79-5

And a poor decision Ern. Umpires performing about as well as England!! Pietersen LBW not hitting the stumps, Fred caught off a no ball. Its amazing how these things go for you when you're on top. I'm a bit sorry for Pietersen who seemed to be over doing batting responsibility. He must be better being postive. Fred just beaten for pace before he got in.

Well shame for Pietersen, but he was lucky with his poor hook shot, yes he ws not out LBW.

I did not know about Flintoff being out to a no ball.

Those who sat Lee can only spray it about are wrong - his line has been dangerous.
McGrath is doing nothing more than bowling accurate just outside the off stump iviting the england players to have a go.
Bell and Jones are doing much better, Bell has rode his luck - but at least is fighting.

Who was the umpire involved in both instances?

Very impressed with Bell. His improvement has been remarkable. Even if hes out next ball he has shown a lot of guts and application. BTW the tv replays show Freds dismissal was a clear no ball. but these things happen.

Surely Billy could have caught that
