Mike Thommo said this on TMS - "Australia's bowling was nothing remarkable" (or words to that effect) but the England batsmen "made some very ordinary shots" - that sums it up.

If Australia could make 600, why could England not make 400 to avoid the follow on?, the batting let England down.

Also the England players had to go back to England after the ICC Trophy, instead of coming to OZ and geting some practice in..

No how can you be?, the players are the same as near as damm it to 2005, it's England that have gone down hill, the fact remains that McGrath will have to be replaced, and soon regardless of this tour - don't take a leaf out of Englands book - and cling on.

Nothing much happening for the Aussie bowlers, those who think Strauss should have been captain should take note he played another hook shot to give his wicket away, when all was needed from his was to stay there.
Clarke must have thought it was his birthday.

CH 9 just did a side-by-side comparison of Cook and Strauss playing the pull shot and Strauss has a technical fault in that his bat is too low starting the backswing so that it has an upward trajectory when meeting the ball and causing it to fly in the air. Cook does try to play the shot with a higher backswing to meet the ball with a horizontal bat and give himself a chance to play it down.

Bell out to Warne - he was playing a shot, commentators think it was 50/50 - was also forward - hard luck Bell.

Well the Aussies gave him the short ball to hook, Strauss should have known his shortcomings, so well bowled Clarke.

Sorry Ern - that was 99-1 out, no where near a 50/50 call.

Lunch - England chuck wickets away again, Australia bowlers are doing the right things - Collingwood thus far has not looked happy.
A couple from Warne to the left hander have kept low, the rest of the England side need to apply themselves.

Overview of the match - Australia have far better batsmen than England.

I am just listening to Boycott and Thommo - so I did not see it myself.

You have seen it - so fair enough.

I have seen it and Bell was well, well forward. Hawkeye said out but must have been a alot of guess work by the ump. Also want to make a comment about the ludicrous historionics displayed by Warne every time an umpire anywhere in the world has the temerity to turn down one of his appeals. He then follows this up with a question as . to why it wasn't out. It wasn't out Mr. Warne because the umpire said so.

Morning SB,
Yes Warne is a bit vocal, the English should take a leaf out of his book - Aussies applaud that anyway.
By that I mean when Flintoff takes a wicket and lets the world know, the pics of that go down well in Aussieland, but frowned on here.
