Collingwood just smashed Lee for a 6, that must have been some sight. |

50 for Collingwood, although he's been very very unconvincing. Doesn't appear to be playing the ball outside the off stump at all well.

Hes miles out of his crease against McGrath. Obviously a new tactic. Perhaps we should have tried this 600 wickets ago

England finally win a session, probably all too late but a crumb of comfort. Also for a major straw clutch thunderstorms forecast for this time tomorrow in Queensland. To be more precise in Brisbane. As we know all of Australia is the Queens land

Simon O'Donnell described Collingwood's knock as "gutsy". As I type, Collingwood and Pieterson are looking well set and not afraid to pull McGrath or Lee. Warne seems to be the main dangerman but he has been given a rest and it's McGrath and Lee operating. Chappell has a problem with the way Pieterson goes into a noticeable low crouch just before the ball is delivered because that means he can't keep his head and eyes still. Tony Grieg agreed and said, as a tall man, he preferred to stand upright and keep his head and eyes as still as possible. Chappell also believes Collingwood is not a true number 4 and would serve England more by batting at 6. He would like to see Pieterson batting at 4. Bell misread Warne's straight delivery and deserved to be given out despite being forward. He was expecting some turn. I think he should play Warne like Pieterson and get his bat well in front of his pads and play the ball on its merits rather than trying to second guess the type of delivery. Good to see Henry Blowfeld interviewed on the Cricket Show. He was wearing a checked shirt without a tie or cravat and looked very relaxed. He's hosting some wine dinners with Jeremy Oliver (a wine expert) in the capital cities in December at $230 a head. Apparently, he's an amateur wine enthusiast so the pair will mix cricket and wine talk. I'm tempted to go myself. Last edited by Mike : 26-11-2006 at 04:51 AM.

I would agree with Chappell that Colly isn't a number 4. It would surely make sense to promote KP to number 4, given that he's probably England's best bat and this would also have the added bonus of splitting KP and Freddie. Collingwood is playing Warne pretty well but I have doubts about him against McGrath and Clark.

Warne throws the ball at Pietersen after Kp hits the ball back to him. Stupid stuff, I don't like the way this is creeping into the game more and more.

Yes. A little bit naughty by Warne. Important KP keeps his head. Let Colly play Warne for the next over or two

Relevant to a point made by Orchid earlier, neither umpire said a word to Warne.
