Nice to see that the Ashes have finaly started three days late.

Word has it there is a storm heading for the ground today so let's hope Australia can get the final wickets ASAP or else Ponting's going to look a bit silly...

I think Warne will clear up England. 1 more wicket and we can safely say they will be in the tail. I don't see Pieterson playing throughout the rest of the day, hes bound to go for some shots. If Warne can get into his head, i see him mis-timing a ball and getting caught at long-on. Giles can bat, but has no-one to support with most of the batsman back in. Lee or Clarke then can clean up the tail, and the two teams can then see each other at Adelaide.

That's the problem - English batsmen should play for the circumstances they are in, and both Pietersen and Jones should be able to read the weather forcast - and block and block and block - you get the picture.

Hopefully Pietersen and Jones will get a little partnership going.

Well jones is at least playing for his place in the 2nd Test, if only England had played with this spirit in the first innings.

Two England players out in the 90s. not many England players have scored 100 at the Gabba in recent times - I know of only two, Botham and I think Greig.

Jones out bowled of an inside edge bowled by Mcgrath - ball kept low.

Hoggard taking guard, won't be long now before this embarrassing match for England is at an end.

To be fair to Jones the ball left him sharply, probably hit a crack.

Giles out bowled Clarke.

Harmison now at the crease - can he make ammends for his dreadfull bowling to get the 301 runs needed with Hoggard for an England victory .
Seriously won't be long now.
