| Flintoff and Hoggard should open attack Flintoff and Hoggard should open the bowling attack for the rest of the series. Anderson and Mahmood should not play in any of the remaining Test matches unless absolutely necessary. They are both not good enough to trouble the Australian's.

| I agree and Lewis should come on first change... Giles should be replaced with Panesar.. lets give the attack some teeth shall we!!

| Given the chance I'd have started the Gabba Test with Lewis and Hoggard, bringing Flintoff and Panesar on at first change (four man attack supported by Collingwood and Pietersen, with Joyce or Ramps batting at 4 and Read in place of Jones as gloveman). There's no guarantee my attack would have taken 20 wickets... but no attack on earth can guarantee 20 wickets... at least my side would have restricted the Aussie batsmen enough to compete / force a draw! If given control at this stage I'd be torn as to the best approach. Adelaide is obviously a very different wicket to the one at Brisbane... and with both Giles and Panesar an absolute must... Flintoff has to play at 6 with Hoggard at 8. If the series were level I'd again prefer Lewis to open with Hoggard... but with the series already slipping away I'd be tempted to take a gamble on Mahmood - it's a desperate measure... but accomodating a 5 man attack makes securing a draw pretty unlikely... so maybe gambling is the way to go. In a worst case scenario I reckon England could almost get by with just Hoggard, FLintoff, Giles and Panesar... so Mahmood could be used sparingly if (as seems likely) not bowling well. | The attack should be Flintoff and Hoggard opening, Harmison first change, than Panesar and Giles adding a few overs. Maybe first change will relax Harmison more. Tell him he doesn't need to be strike bowler. Lower the expectations.

| Lewis? He is very much like Hoggard and Anderson in that he relies on swing and seam, but he is slower and alot less experianced at this level than the other two. As we seen in the first test, after the Kookaburra ball looses its shine, it stops swinging and bowlers have to rely on accuracy, speed and bounce to get wickets. Hoggard and Anderson looked below club standard and were played easily by the Australian batsmen after the ball lost its shine, the same will happen to Lewis if he plays, I doubt he will trouble the Australians.

| I'd go with Hoggy and Fred on what i have seen so far. Then use Harmison afterwards and the 2 spinners later on. |

| Totally agree Greg Flintoff is by far there best bowler, I have always been suprised that he was not opening the bowling in the first test with all the confidence problems with Harmison.Flintoff has the accuracy and pace to take the new rock. Harmison should be given a easier first or second change position.

| Not only that, I think harmison prefers coming on as first change anyway. Do it !

| Pick yer 4 or 5 best bowlers, and right now that's Hoggy, Fred, Monty, Gilo with Harmy just slipping in there (more in dire hope than anything else!). Either way, you've got your best on the park, and Fletchers much mooted 'stronger batting line up'.
