Warnes bowling well, Giles has subjected us to this sort of negativity for years.

One little side issue.McGrath keeps leaving the field and seeing as he came into the game with the injury should we allow a substitute fielder?

Look at McGrath's figures they are not awful considering its a featherbed. I agree he is past his peak but he is not being carted all over the place.
I reckon Collingwood and Peitersen should get to 400 and go for it.

Australia shouldn't have played McGrath, he can't be fully fit. He's bowling about as innocuously as I've ever seen him.

Well played Colly and Pietersen, fantastic hundreds.

Time to start attacking a little more though.

Absolutely, although it's a bit of an admission from Ponting that he's stumped, Warne pitching outside leg and McGrath bowling outside off. Very defensive.

It's making pretty bad viewing at the moment.

I agree it needs to be looked at. I was just making the point England have done it as well so there is no moral high ground here.

I think its a perfectly reasonable tac tic. Warne knows KP could lose patience, they are 1 up in the series and probably believe they can bat out for whatever time needed. I do believe it can be overdone though and I would imagine it goes against Warnes instinct. This also looks a really flat pitch so you can expect to see plenty of it from giles when Ponting is in the process of scoring about 1 million

1000 test runs for Colly in 2006. I've been a doubter but he's proving me and everyone else wrong.
