I do not believe England are safe yet.
I would get as many runs as possible - but the rate England have scored their runs gives little time for an Aussie win - Ponting will make sure his side dose not lose, a draw is good enough for him, he will shut up shop.

Sometimes our Aussie batters get a bit mentally fragile when confronted with a large opposition 1st innings total.

In general they prefer to ski down the mountain rather than catching the ski lift back up.

I agree completely Ern, if I was Flintoff I wouldn't even consider declaring tonight. I'd just bat and see how many England can make.

I doubt very much whether the current England bowling attack will trouble the Aussie batsmen on this pitch.

You don't know how they will cope mentally with such a big total on the board.Look at England's 1st innings in Brisbane as an example of a side crumbling under pressure.

I am loving seeing the old man being treated like a club bowler by Giles and Flintoff.Great to see.

McGrath clearly not right. Be interesting to see if he will be ok for Perth in just a couple of weeks.

On what i have seen i hope he plays as he looks shot to pieces.Too early to dismiss him as gone completely but the fitness worry i talked about before the series has been true.Shame the git won the first test for them before we knocked the stuffing out of him.

I presume you are refering to Warne. Although he is the leading wicket taker, in my opinion, Warne has always been overrated. He is basically a negative bowler who relies on his ability to spin the ball to take wickets. The trouble is that his reputation precedes him on most occasions and batsmen do not always play him on merit. Another fact is that the calibre of batting has gone down so much in the last 15 years that batsmen tend to throw away their wickets. The Indians have always attacked him and he has never been effective in India.
