This is true - get one soon is needed, Anderson is bowling better, a near LBW.

Lunch: a real battle, England bowling well on - Ponting a fortunate 57, a missed catch - and would have been a yard out had Collinwood hit the stumps.

Giles could come on and get wickets, ponting could make 200 - England in the better possition in truth.

Well off to bed with earphones - on a better pitch my honest opinion England would have been in a very strong possition.

My reasoning is that England have made Australia work hard for their runs, unlike the Gabba this pich is easier.

A warning for both sides - Harmison is bowling well - beware Perth - Ponting can do no wrong.

Good attrition cricket - like when cricket was not infuence with one day rubbish.
Goodnight - Gdnight.

Going ok for England so far, shame about Giles dropping Ponting but at least the Aussies are being made to work hard for the runs in this game.

What a shame that Hayden and Martyn failed once more against England.Martyn must be on borrowed time in the team now as in his last 7 matches against England he has done very little.

Australians are made to work hard for their runs, but Ponting and Hussey do not appear to be any particular trouble. I will not be surprised if both go on to make a big (huge) score.

With the depth Australia has, I will still not say that they are in trouble.

Ponting beginning to make England play for their chances.
England have bowled well on an unhelpful pitch.

Whilst you are probably right i am clinging to hope and keep thinking of Mr Boycott's saying of add 20 runs and 2 wickets to the score and see what it looks like then as 1 brings 2.

England well on top but Australia will be disappointed to lose this match from here on such a dead surface.

Question 1 .. Is Monty Panesar such a liability considering I witnessed Giles totally butcher what really should have been an easy catch. ( It looked a little bit spectactular in the end only because he got himself in such a poor position to take it. And are his welding goggles come sunglasses really helping the situation ?)

Question 2 .. How many wickets does Giles have to take to square the ledger with his butchering of the Ponting catch ? a couple or few tailenders might not cut the mustard if Ricky gets away.

Question 3 .. Is Monty Panesar a better bowler than Ashley Giles
and if you answer yes
Question 4 .. Why is'nt Monty Panesar playing instead of Ashley Giles ?

Good to see that it is not only the Australian selectors being a bit to close, touchy feely and over emotionally involved with some of squad members they are supposed to be making harsh rational decisions about the selection of.
