Has Duncan Fletcher got too much power over selection? It seems to me that he picks his favourites and there should be a selection structure that can take a more objective view.

Very true.Marsh said as much a few years ago when Read was dropped in the West Indies.

Then again who should have the say over the team when on tour?It isn't as if the selectors follow them round,the coach sees them every day and knows what form they are in and should be trusted to pick the right team.
