I wouldn't scoff at a 400 prediction quite yet Greg, Hussey has a long history of drawing an extra 100 runs out of the tail - even an extra hundred runs from the last wicket.

Get Hussey now, and then scoff.

Jones has kept well. Needs to get a bit of credit.

Hopefully Monty can get a 5 wicket haul.

Lee is a dangerous batsman though.

It'll certainly be interesting to see if England can make any runs on this surface.

That is the key.We will need a lead of around 200 at least the way we always play Warne in the last innings.

I couldnt agree more Greg. I am really hoping that the England openers come good here. I have a feeling that Strauss may come good here tomorrow.

Where is Ern. Still feel that Monty wont make that much of a difference

Taking Risks

I think the returns of Panesar so far show the folly of not being prepared to take selection risks right from the start of the series. In sport if you are not trying to improve you are going backwards. Selecting Giles must have told the Australians that the English bravado prior to the series was largely aimed at trying to convince themselves

Monty the man. First englishmen to take five at Perth. Even Warne does not have a five fer (yet).
Anyone still think Monty is overated.

I am delighted for him. He deserves it. He may just have kept Englands hopes alive in this series.

To sum up how well Monty has done.Warne has played 11 tests at Perth without getting 5 wickets in an innings and Monty has done it in his first innings on a day 1 track.

I bet Warne's poor record at Perth improves in this game.

Monty has made Fletcher look a complete idiot and if we lose the ashes he must fall on his sword for backing Giles.
